Bonga National High School is the largest among the eight (8) public secondary schools in the municipality of Bacacay, Albay, occupying approximately 16,000 square meters. The school is divided into two separate campuses: the junior high school, covering about 7,000 square meters, and the senior high school, occupying around 9,000 square meters. It has a total of 17 classrooms—11 in the junior high school and 6 in the senior high school. The school also houses five workshops and laboratories, with two located in the junior high school and three in the senior high school. Faculty facilities include five faculty rooms in the junior high school and one in the senior high school. Administrative functions are centralized in the junior high school campus, which hosts both the Office of the Principal and the Office of the Public Schools District Supervisor. A notable feature of the school is the historic Gabaldon Building, a cultural landmark of Barangay Bonga that predates the school’s founding in 1996.
Bonga National High School has separate campuses for its junior and senior high school departments. The junior high school campus is conveniently situated just along the National Road, making it easily accessible via the Tabaco-Legazpi route. Meanwhile, the senior high school campus is located approximately 300 meters from the National Road and can be accessed through a road situated in front of Upper Bonga Elementary School. It is also located near the Trinitas Home for Contemplation.

Bonga National High School offers free basic education from Grades 7 to 12. At the senior high school level, it provides two tracks: the Academic Track and the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) Track. Under the Academic Track, the school offers the Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand. The TVL Track includes specializations in Industrial Arts (IA) - Automotive Servicing NCII; and Home Economics (HE) - Bread and Pastry Production (BPP) NC II, Food and Beverage Services (FBS) NC II, and Cookery NC II.
Bonga National High School is committed to upholding the vision and mission of the Department of Education by ensuring access to free and quality basic education, as mandated by the Philippine Constitution. As an educational institution, it offers students further training and opportunities for achievement by implementing the key components of the Enhanced Basic Education Curriculum, commonly known as the K–12 Basic Education Program. This program was introduced in School Year 2012–2013 beginning with Grade 7, and expanded in School Year 2016–2017 with the addition of Grade 11.
As of School Year 2024–2025, Bonga National High School has an enrollment of 764 students. Approximately 80% of the student population resides in Barangay Bonga, while the remaining 20% come from neighboring areas. A significant portion of this group hails from the school's catchment areas, including Barangay Hindi and Barangay Bayandong in the municipality of Bacacay, as well as Barangay San Fernando, Barangay San Andres, and Barangay Bagong San Roque in the municipality of Sto. Domingo. A number of students also come from other nearby barangays.
The school is staffed by 50 faculty members—32 assigned to the junior high school and 18 to the senior high school. Supporting the operations of the school are nine administrative personnel, consisting of eight non-teaching staff and one school principal.
